19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his first title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former number one, has experienced a difficult season, winning just one win at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.

Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents his first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since that period of that year.

Success also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is really nice," said tennis professional the champion.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his last six finals, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to question if his ability to play at the highest level was over.

However the athlete has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

He came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the last five points to take the lead.

The pair traded break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to create a decider.

He rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive third set before the champion broke to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
